The Melbourne Romance Writers Guild is please to announce that it is now proudly affiliated with the Romance Writers of Australia
The Melbourne
Romance Writers Guild, initiated in 1991, has flourished over the years.
We currently have 30 members ranging from novices to the multi-published
in a number of genres.
Our published members include: Fiona Lowe (HM&B Medicals), Nicola Marsh (HM&B Romance, Sexy Sensation/Modern Heat), Elvina Payet (Arabella), Margaret Tanner (Whiskey Creek Press, and TWRP), Cheryl Wright (Arabella, TWRP, Central Avenue Press), Ebony McKenna (TWRP, Egmont), Gail Symmonds (TWRP).
Meetings are held at the Fitzroy
Library, Moor Street, Fitzroy on the third Sunday of each month, except
December, which is the second Sunday. The meetings run from 11.00am to
4.00pm.
The meeting agenda includes discussion of market and competition news,
member's accomplishments for the previous month (and the
lovely reward of chocolate!) then lunch followed by a critique session
or a workshop.
Potential members can attend meetings on a trial basis – paying a nominal fee - where they will be expected to participate in discussions, workshops and critique sessions. After a few meetings – and to everyone’s agreement – the new member can become a full member by paying the annual fee of $55.00.
**Note: Prospective members are not permitted to attend without prior arrangement. We meet in a secure area, and there is no public access.
